Theravada Buddhism - The Dhammapada is a collection of sayings of the Buddha in verse form and one of the most widely read and best known Buddhist scriptures. The original version of the Dhammapada is in the Khuddaka Nikaya, a division of the Pali Canon of Theravada Buddhism. The title, "Dhammapada," is a compound term composed of dhamma and pada, each word having a number of denotations and connotations. Generally, dhamma can refer to the Buddha's "doctrine" or an "eternal truth" or "righteousness" or all "phenomena"; and, at its root, pada means "foot" and thus by extension, especially in this context, means either "path" or "verse" (cf. "prosodic foot") or both. 0:00 Introduction 0:25 The Twin Verses 5:21 Earnestness 8:19 Thought 10:50 Flower 14:23 The Fool 18:06 The Wise Man 21:31 The Venerable Arhat 24:06 The Thousands 27:40 Evil 30:36 Punishment 34:35 Old Age 36:58 Self 41:58 The Buddha 45:56 Happiness 48:35 Pleasure 51:05 Anger 54:05 Impurity ■SouthOzMan @rumble @odysee @bitchute @X * What is the Dhammapada?
